I paid my last visit of the year to the East Lancashire Railway on 20th November 2011. I met a couple of good friends and spent a few hours travelling on the DMU and behind 80080, the crew had to work extremely hard between Ramsbottom and Irwell Vale on the 1310 ex Bury. It is not often you get to witness a race between a Locomotive and a gentleman with a wheel barrow.
I also took the opportunity to have a look at the results of all the hard work the ELR volunteers have put in preparing for the invasion of children eager to meet Santa. You guys have done a fantastic job and I am sure the kids will love it.
Another great day, In fact another great year at The East Lancashire Railway.
