I have worked in both Industries and I am sad to say that in my opinion that the Bus and Coach Industry is much the same as the Railway, Past its best. Gone are the days when the Conductor gave young and old a sense of security.The familiar friendly face that helped you on or off the bus,who even took the time to help with prams or shopping. Little things we all took so much for granted.

In my opinion today's companies don't seem to provide a public service and appear to be profit driven. Such is the world we live in now.
Admittedly the buses and coaches are safer, They are more comfortable and no doubt they are more environmentally friendly,but do they have the character of the old classics?,and do they have the characters working on them?
Then again, maybe I'm just an old geezer looking through rose tinted glasses.
