The Apedale Mining Gala.
The Apedale Heritage Centre held their Mining Gala on 15th and 16th June 2013.
There was plenty to see , with Fairground rides, Hog Roast, Exhibitions and not forgetting the Real Ale Tent. There was also plenty to hear, with a number of bands and solo artists to suit all tastes in music.
With the Apedale Light Railway offering Steam Train rides this could only be described as a perfect weekend. Stanhope and Joffre were in service and The Petrol Motor Rail Genesix made an appearance running with the two Apprentice restored ex ICI Shevington wagons, So a great day was had, and I'm sure the waist is a little larger with all the good food and beer .
