The West Lancashire Light Railway ' Joffre ' Naming Day.
I had the pleasure of attending The West Lancashire Railway on Sunday 22nd July 2012 for the official naming of the Kerr Stuart 2405 'Joffre'.
The naming was ably carried out by Mr Steve Davies MBE, Director of The National Railway Museum.
Irish Mail was in passenger service all day and was joined by Joffre after the naming ceremony to provide a frequent service. There was also a steam truck, military vehicles and a traction engine on show.
Everyone at The West Lancashire Railway should be very proud of the end result of their hard work and dedication. I raise my glass to each and everyone of you for what you have achieved. I would like to thank everyone involved for an excellent day.
You even managed to get good weather.
