Kirklees Railway
The Kirklees Light Railway held their fifth annual Steam Gala on the 11th and 12th September 2010.
Visiting locomotives from The Evesham Vale Light Railway's,The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, and The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway joined the four home based steam locomotives Badger,Hawk,Fox and Owl.
An initensive timetable operated all day, The volunteers were very friendly and it was evident they were enjoying themselves from their big smiles This lasted right up to the Shelley or bust cavalcade that saw all available engines running together from Clayton West to Shelley.This was the climax to what can only be described as a brilliant event and they thoroughly deserve their Title "Yorkshire's Great Little Steam Trains".
