It was great to get back to the Leek & Rudyard Railway on the 18th September 2016 for their Steam Gala. It has now been 6 years since I first visited this railway and instantly fell in love with the place. Unfortunately I cant get there as often as I would like.
Once again work prevented me attending both days of the Gala so I missed the Miniature Traction Engines that were there on the Saturday.
King Arthur, Pendragon, Nelly, Excalibur and Waverley were all in action on passenger and goods trains.
The Gala was very well attended and Belle, Rudyard Lady and Frances also appeared alongside the Steam Locos. Not forgetting Alice on show at Rudyard Station.
There was also the opportunity to ride on the North Staffs Model Engineering Society 5 inch Gauge line.
A number of classic cars were on show at Rudyard Station.
A big thank you to everyone at the L&RR for making me feel so welcome and to all the classic car and traction engine owners who allowed us to view your wonderful vehicles.
All of this and great weather too. What more could I ask for?
