The Leek and Rudyard Railway held their Annual Diesel Gala on 22nd and 23rd April 2023. This is some of the action on Sunday, as I was unable to be there for both days. Frances, Ferret, Glen Auldyn, Rudyard Lady and Guest Loco Griffon with Waverley providing some steam to the occasion. This was my first chance to have a look at the new Platform 2 cafe, which is opening soon.
Rudyard was a lot quieter than it normally is, as was the Gala itself as the weather could have been kinder to us. Saturday was the complete opposite – of course, that had to be the day I could not make it. However, the rain didn't stop those who attended enjoying the Gala. Many thanks to everyone at the LRR for a thoroughly enjoyable day. I just wish I had made it on Saturday too.
