Despite some miserable weather I had a superb Weekend at The Leek & Rudyard Railway for their 2018 Steam Gala. This is the first of Two videos, The second showing Sunday's action. It certainly was a hive of activity on Friday as the guys worked hard getting everything ready for the Gala. Weather wise Saturday was the best day of the weekend being dry and the Sun trying to shine. That cant be said about the Sunday with some really heavy downpours.
Merlin, King Arthur, Pendragon and Excalibur and Guest Loco Nelly operated an intensive Freight and Passenger service over the two days, with Rudyard Lady, Ferret and Frances occasionally joining in the fun.
A working model Railway layout of Rudyard Station during its BR days was on show. This was the very first Public appearance and looked fantastic, cant wait to see grow over the years. Alongside it there was 2 beautiful 5 inch Locos Jill type David Bough and Polly 1 No. 8312 on show. Both owned by two LRR volunteers.
The North Staffs Model Engineering Society were also offering train rides to visitors to the Railway over the weekend
