I went to the Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft for their 43rd Annual Trolleybus Gathering. This is the biggest event of the Trolleybus museum's calendar. The event was held on Sunday 27th July 2014, with a preview on the Saturday.
I have been to the Trolleybus Museum on a few occasions but this was the first time I had managed to be there for both days of The Gathering and it was all that I had expected, and more. There was tours of The Isle of Axholme, and a bus service to Doncaster Bus Station. A large number of Buses and cars were on display on the Sunday and with a jazz band playing, and Real Ale beer tent and beautiful weather it was just great to sit there and soak up the atmosphere. |
There was also the opportunity to look about the Depot at the vehicles in various stages of restoration. On the Sunday this area was shared with transport related stalls. The volunteers at The Trolleybus Museum are only too pleased to talk to you about the vehicles or any questions you might have. I could go on for ages telling you what I think of the place but it would be better if you went along and experienced it for yourself. Many thanks to everyone involved for an excellent event. This is a selection of the Photos taken over the two days. |
